Handling Cargo in a Warehouse, Loading and Unloading Unit Load Devices and Loading and Unloading Aircraft Cargo Compartments

COURSE OBJECTIVES

This course is intended to meet the regulatory training need in compliance with the new training provisions based on job functions, to be implemented, with effect from 1st January 2023. 

H.1.1.2 states that personnel must be trained to competently perform the function for which they are responsible. These responsibilities are determined by the specific functions the personnel perform and not by their job titles.

This course specially targets personnel responsible for handling cargo in a warehouse, loading and unloading unit load devices and loading and unloading only on aircraft cargo compartments. Our course contents are uniquely developed to meet the needs of freight forwarders. 

Upon completion of this competency-based training assessment course, the individual is accredited to be equipped with relevant knowledge to competently perform the required tasks at stipulated levels of competency levels. Various assessment modes are determined to assess their skills, knowledge and attitude competency factors.

Module 0 – Understanding the basics of dangerous goods 

• Dangerous goods applicability 
• Understanding the general limitations
• Identifying roles and responsibilities
• Understanding the importance of classification and packaging
• Understanding  hazard communication
• Familiarizing with basic emergency response

Module 4 – Managing cargo pre-loading

• Plan the load
• Prepare load for aircraft

Module 6 – Transporting cargo/baggage

• Load aircraft
• Unload aircraft

Module 7 – Collecting safety data

• Report dangerous goods accidents
• Report dangerous goods incidents
• Report undeclared/mis-declared dangerous goods
• Report dangerous goods occurrences

• Ground handling agents 
• Operators

ACCREDITATION & EXAMINATION

SAAA’s co-branded IATA Secured Digital Award (SDA) Certificate is awarded to participants who successfully obtained a grade of 80% or higher based on overall assessment format. Pass with distinction is awarded to participants who did exceptionally well at above 90%.

WITHDRAWAL AND REFUND OF FEES

On withdrawal of course upon acceptance, participant is required to write to SAAA Cargo Services Pte Ltd through their respective companies. 

Refund is only applicable based on the notification period. Else, below penalty applies.
