For Personnel Responsible for Preparing Dangerous Goods Consignments (3-Day Course)
COURSE OBJECTIVES
This course is intended to meet the regulatory training need in compliance with the new training provisions on DGR 63rd edition based on job functions, to be implemented, with effect from 1st January 2023.
H.1.1.2 states that personnel must be trained to competently perform the function for which they are responsible. These responsibilities are determined by the specific functions the personnel perform and not by their job titles.
This course specially targets personnel responsible for preparing dangerous goods consignments for transport, includes packing, marking, labelling of packages and overpacks and documentation suitable for air transportation.
Upon completion of this 3-day competency-based training assessment course, the individual is accredited to sign on DGD Declaration and fulfill the responsibilities of shippers, packers and operators’ staff acting as shippers.

Module 0 – Understanding the basics of dangerous goods

Module 1 – Classifying Dangerous Goods
- Evaluate a substance or an article against the classification criteria
- Determine dangerous goods description

Module 2 -Preparing dangerous goods shipment
- Assess packing options including quantity limitations
- Apply packing requirements
- Apply marks and labels
- Assess use of overpack
- Prepare documentation

ACCREDITATION & EXAMINATION
SAAA’s co-branded IATA Secured Digital Award (SDA) Certificate is awarded to participants who successfully obtained a grade of 80% or higher based on overall assessment format. Pass with distinction is awarded to participants who did exceptionally well at above 90%.

Trainee A, PR aged 35 years old:
Full course fee, including Radioactive Materials ($900) – Grant ($450) = $450 + 8% GST = $522
Trainee B, Singapore Citizen aged 45 years old:
Full course fee, including Radioactive Materials ($900) – Grant ($630) = $270 + 8% GST = $342
*GST calculation is based on full course fee.
SSG Funding Eligibility / Grant Disbursement Criteria:
Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents
Course fees have been fully paid within the stipulated timeline. (For employer-sponsored trainee, course fees must be received from the company’s account). Trainee must achieve at least 75% attendance. Trainee must pass all prescribed tests / assessments. There is employer-employee relationship and CPF contribution for employer-sponsored trainees. SAAA Cargo Services Pte Ltd reserves the right to recover the funded amount from trainee / company if the trainee did not meet the eligibility criteria. Funding application is subjected for approval by SSG. |

WITHDRAWAL AND REFUND OF FEES
On withdrawal of course upon acceptance, participant is required to write to SAAA Cargo Services Pte Ltd through their respective companies.
Refund is only applicable based on the notification period. Else, below penalty applies.
